Facial Peels
Alpha/Beta Hydroxyacid Peels
An Alpha Hydroxyacid (Glycolic)
peels come in varying strengths. They dissolve epidermal cellular debris
while they stimulate collagen synthesis in the skin. The immediate result
is a smoother, more translucent complexion. Mild flaking and/or slight
redness are the most common side effects of this type of peel. This is
our lightest peel and can be done anytime for an instant rejuvenation effect!
A six week peel program in combination with glycolic home care products
will produce more substantial results.
Our Beta Hydroxyacid (Salicylate) peels likewise come in varying
strengths. They are slightly stronger than the glycolic. They lift the
stratum corneum, triggering a "mitotic burst" of renewal. Skin becomes
softer, smoother and more evenly pigmented, and pores are reduced in size.
Skin redness, if any, may persist for 7 to 10 days. Skin tightness, and
mild to moderate peeling and flaking can be expected with higher strengths.
An enzyme treatment one week post-peel is highly recommended.
